Rivets
A rivet consists of a shank and a specially designed head (round, countersunk, pan, flat, trapezoidal, etc.). Rivets are typically manufactured from steel, copper, brass, or aluminium, and the rivet material is generally selected to match the material of the components being joined. In general, rivets are classified as solid, semi-tubular, or tubular. For applications where access is possible from only one side, so-called blind rivets are used.
